David Samuel achieves palettes of color from his Stratocaster, driving the guitar with funky wah-wahs, smooth sustain, walls of feedback, and any limitless combination of tonalities to color his songs with life. This is rock n' roll with all its roots intact, a hint of blues, a touch of funk and soul, a storm front of energy unleashed from the first note to the last song of the night!


On “Ashur,” they combine Tower of Power horns with funky blues guitar riffs. On “Ingram House,” they paint a picture of artistic tenacity with soaring vocals and a dark, epic musical framework. On “Take Time,” they create a song so insanely catchy that you’ll be singing it to yourself even as you curse Samuel for pushing repeat on your internal iPod.

From the beginning, the music starts weaving its hypnotic tapestry, dancing around the soul, and carries you to another plane. And just when your feeling this is all you need in life, it starts spinning your mind in slow circles around the music’s tapestry with incredibly enchanting vocals and lyrics. Nice opening bluesy riffs remind me of Jimi Hendrix. Sounds like a good strat player. Very good female vocal with good lyrics. Reminds me of Pat Benatar. Guitar riff over chorus reminds me of a U2 song.....sunday bloody sunday to be more specific. Good performance. Good song. Guitar lead with wah sounds like an old Hendrix lead from "watchtower" Sounds like the band has some good influences.

Rumor has it that Slash and Axel rose showed up to a DSP concert to view their version of Sweet Child of Mine when someones hair caught on fire during David Samuel's guitar solo! Check out their music video of the performance!

My first initial reaction to this song (Take Time) is that this is what the Red Hot Chili Peppers would sound like if Anthony Kiedis could actually sing.

The song Feels Real Good is something between Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones chord structure with jeff beck guitar and couger melencamp type vocals.

The single The Time Has Come was an original cut from David Samuel at the request of a modeling agencie asking for a Jimi Hendrix sounding tune that they could play for a in house promo for the models. The song went national being played in various agencies.

Eric Clapton made Before You Accuse Me famous on his 9 grammy award winning unplugged album, but David Samuel definitly hit a home run himself recreating this classic blues song. I am looking forward to the Blues For A Day CD to come out!

Guitar Player David Samuel will be teaching kids at the primeville high school a lesson about the blues before he rocks the stage later that night in Oregon March 9th, 2007.

Hendrix was more than a guitar player.  He was a spiritual guitar player.  He provoked thought and promoted that music was bigger than he was.  David samuel takes a page from this school of thought.

Today's generation of guitar players do not know who Stevie Ray Vuaghan is? All the emo kids are listenting to drop d or power chords and think that this is guitar music?
